The drive will cover a number of roads in the Fassifern Valley, an area where a lot of events were held back in the ’70’s – Olden Days” such as BSCC ‘Esso Ashgrove Rally’, ‘Shell Annerley Dusk to Dawn Rally”, and some Ipswich West Moreton Auto Club Events – thus the name Fassifern Valley Safari.

The event is a Non-Competitive Social Drive so no competition licence is required. Cost is $10 and includes complimentary BSCC day membership.

The Fassifern Valley Safari will Start at the Ampol service station at Peak Crossing, which is about 20 kilometres south of Ipswich at 9.00 am Sunday morning the 22nd September 2024, it heads in a roundabout way to Aratula for a break then – back to Peak Crossing for a BYO – BBQ in a park.
In the ’70’s – Olden Days” they were generally mapping events. First RACQ maps, then mainly 1:250.000 “Army” maps as they were known. Sorry – not using those old maps.
Fortunately most of the roads today are narrow rural bitumen but some are unsealed maintained roads, suitable for all cars.

This will be a great event for club members to socialise and family participation with a great drive in the countryside.

Once again you have a choice:
You can use the Non-mapping instructions with heaps of questions on the way to answer – easy to see or if you wish to use the Mapping instructions the map and instructions will be emailed to you the week before the event. That way you can roll up to the start with the route plotted, and I can check that you have it correct.
